Four Ways to Fix Social Media’s Political Ads Problem – Without Banning Them

In November, Twitter announced a policy that will ban all political ads in the 2020 election. Matt Perault (Duke University) and Daniel Kreiss (UNC) immediately agreed that Twitter’s decision was the wrong one, so they published an op-ed in the NYT, proposing four alternative solutions that Twitter could have implemented instead of a blanket ban. We invited Daniel as our inaugural guest to discuss these solutions further.
